Writes Norvin Clontz:
"When George applied for his Revolutionary War Pension, he said under oath, that he and his brother, Jeremiah, became ill around the time of the Battle of Stono, at a place called Bacon's Ridge, and all were "hauled" to Camden with the rest of the sick. All the sick were left at Camden with no one to care for them. George said that his father came and took both he and his brother home. George made his sworn statement January 28, 1833, in Burke County."
Note: Conflict of reported testimony; George does not mention his brother in his affadavit to the court...DAH.

Norvin Clontz identifies him as "Michael George Clontz".
_____
- After 1830, George, George,Jr., Michael, Jacob and Samuel (all of Burke County in 1830) moved to Buncombe County, North Carolina. George died in 1838, but the others were shown in Buncombe County, North Carolina, in the 1840 Census.
Michael was 37, his wife was 30-40 and he had 1 son under 5 years, 2 sons between 5 and 10 years and a son who was 10 to 20 years old.
By 1850, Michael had moved to Hawkins County, Tennessee, and the census showed the following family members:
Michael Clouts 47
Ann 39(sic)
Ephraim 21
John H. 19
Ambrose 17
Sophronia 14
Louisa 8
Manda 2
Rebecca 1 month
On January 19, 1856, Ambrose married Leanna Davis in Green Co., Tennessee, and they are listed in the 1870 Hawkins County, Tennessee, census thusly:
Ambrose Clontz 37, farmer, born North Carolina
Leana(sic) 32, born Hawkins Co., Tennessee
Mary A. 14
Eliza J. 11
Ambrose 7
Amanda 2
In the 1870's, Ambrose and his family moved to Kentucky. By then they had a son named, John Henry, who was born in 1870. By 1880, the family was listed in Rockcastle County, Kentucky:
Ambrose 46
Leander 46
Ambrose 17
Manda 13
John 11
William 4
Lidda 2
Mary and Eliza were married by then and lived in Rockcastle County.
My grandfather, John Henry, told me he followed an oxcart from Tennessee to Rockcastle County, Kentucky, when he was a small boy.

Carl,
In the book "Early Lutheran Baptisms and Marriages in Southeastern Pennsylvania: The Records of Rev. John Casper Steover from 1730 to 1779", the marriage of Hironymus Glantz and Erna Barbara Mack is listed as Oct. 15, 1733 in Philidelphia.
The religion and place is news to me. There wasn't any Glantz baptisms mention in the book. However, it would be intersting to search the records of the baptisms and marriages in the Lutheran Churches in the Philidelphia area conducted by others than Rev. Stoever.

I'd appreciate any information in that direction. Thanks in advance.
